What To Expect On A Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Course

Rhinoplasty! It’s a big word for what was once perceived as a big procedure. Yet in a society where it is increasingly commonplace to improve physical appearance, non-surgical rhinoplasty is becoming one of the most popular cosmetic enhancements. The development of less invasive treatments, which are more accessible and affordable, means that “going under the surgeon’s knife” is now somewhat an outdated concept. Is it time to take a non-surgical rhinoplasty course?

What has been driving the non-surgical rhinoplasty trend?

In 2023, the go to culprit for many trends or fads is often social media. And non-surgical rhinoplasty is no exception, actually dubbed the ‘liquid nose job’ on platforms such as TikTok. Additionally, we are just coming out of the pandemic period, where many people were forced to come face-to-face with themselves during online zoom meetings. Many were not happy with what they saw and went in search of some minor “tweakments”.

Are you already working within the aesthetics industry?

If you are already working as an aesthetician, you may have battled with the appropriate limit of treatments that should be delivered. Of course, the naysayers will suggest that beauty is only skin deep. However, extensive research demonstrates that self image is directly linked to emotional and mental wellbeing. The nose is a prominent facial feature which can lead to serious confidence issues and impact on every aspect of life, from relationships and families, to work and career progression. A well performed non-surgical rhinoplasty on the right patient can be a transformative life event for them. What a privilege to be able to achieve this through non-surgical techniques.

Honing in on the procedure in question, medical practitioners who are already working within the aesthetic industry will have experience working with dermal filler. Non-surgical rhinoplasty utilises the same type of dermal filler you will have been using for other treatments – the most popular being hyaluronic acid filler.

Why do so many people want to change their nose?

The nose is not just a facial feature, it is an essential organ. The nose is one of the major pathways for our breath and, not only that, it actively filters allergens, bacteria and dust. It also enables us to smell delightful things such as freshly mown grass or brewing coffee. The nose is truly a wonderful thing, but for some, their relationship with their nose is a little more complex.

The nose is central to the face. It is the focal point and, therefore, naturally draws attention. So, if an individual is not happy with what they see in the mirror, they may start to think about cosmetic enhancement.

People may seek to change their nose after an accident or injury. The shape of the nose can be permanently damaged from a sporting injury or other previous trauma. In some cases, a patient may be a suitable candidate for a surgical rhinoplasty, especially if there is a functional element to the problem. If this only concern is a cosmetic one, however, this may be addressed with a non-surgical approach.

The following issues are the most common complaints, all of which may be fixed with non-surgical treatments.

I am not a trained surgeon. How can I perform a rhinoplasty?

When it comes to delivering courses to our delegates, Acquisition Aesthetics is committed to the highest of standards. We only train individuals already working within medical professions, and our courses are an opportunity to enhance and continue your professional development.

So, let’s be clear! The traditional “nose job” is carried out by a cosmetic surgeon with many years of experience under their belt. This course teaches non-surgical rhinoplasty, utilising injectable facial aesthetics techniques to acquire the desired look.

The advantages of non-surgical rhinoplasty

Many of your potential patients may have been considering a nose job for a number of years. However, the financial implications and the downtime associated with recovery prevented them from going ahead. Here are the key advantages of non-surgical rhinoplasty.

A non-surgical rhinoplasty appointment can be done in as little as 30 minutes. Once the treatment is complete, your patient can carry on as normal. In contrast, surgical procedures need a minimum of two weeks recovery – something which is just not viable for many busy individuals.

The procedure involves the injection of dermal filler into the nose to create a more even and balanced appearance. The filler is injected using fine needles which leaves the smallest of red dots, healing in as little as 24 hours.

During the consultation process you will carefully discuss your client’s objectives and expectations. This will enable you to customise the treatment in order to achieve the desired look. The results are subtle and natural looking.

What’s more, patients undergoing this type of treatment will enjoy instant results – which is certainly preferable to a longer waiting time! This, paired with the minimal recovery period, makes it a quick and convenient procedure.

As a highly regarded aesthetician, patient satisfaction is extremely important for your business. Whilst your consultation and treatment process may have been meticulously planned and carried out, sometimes a patient simply does not like the look of their new nose. Unlike surgical treatments, the process can be reversed with the injection of a filler dissolving enzyme, in extreme circumstances. The patient could also choose to wait for the filler to naturally dissolve, usually within 12-18 months.

Now, this procedure is a quick fix, but in all the right ways. Surgical nose jobs come with many associated risks and when complications do arise, the patient may have to wait for up to 12 months before the area can be treated again. With a non-surgical nose job, the results are instant but also temporary, meaning the patient can make subtle changes without too much commitment.

The disadvantages of non-surgical rhinoplasty

As a professional aesthetician, you need to ensure that you have extensive knowledge of all the treatments that you offer. Whilst the benefits of non-surgical rhinoplasty are many, transparency of any potential issues or disadvantages is important. So here are a few key points to consider.

First things first, let’s explore the potential side effects. There may be some pain, swelling and redness following the treatment. Clients should not wear glasses immediately following the procedure and should sleep with their head elevated for the first night.

In rare cases, aesthetic injectables can block blood vessels through a vascular occlusion. A thorough understanding of the vascular anatomy of the region and a safe injecting technique will minimise the risk of this occurrence but it is a complication that must be discussed in the consenting process.

Non-surgical nose jobs are temporary. If your patient is looking for a permanent solution, this is not the choice for them.

Furthermore, if a patient has a crooked or misaligned nose which is causing pain, blocked airways or any other functional problem, they may need to consider a surgical operation instead.

Whilst non-surgical rhinoplasty can improve many aesthetic issues, extremely distorted noses cannot be treated this way.

What are the benefits of a rhinoplasty course for an aesthetician?

The field of aesthetics continues to grow. It is big business and many medical practitioners are now actively diversifying their skill set in order to safely and effectively deliver cosmetic treatments. As an aesthetician who is already practising in this field, you need to ensure that you are staying ahead of the crowd. Here are just some of the advantages that completing a rhinoplasty course could offer.

Up Your Earning Power!

The demand is already there, you just need to enhance your supply. As a practising aesthetician, you probably already have clients who are considering changing the appearance of their nose. By undergoing a non-surgical rhinoplasty course, you unlock the potential to earn more revenue from your existing patients, whilst also attracting new ones. Additionally, failing to stay up to date with the latest innovative treatments could mean that your existing clients start to look elsewhere, so it is imperative to continue your professional development.

Stand Out From The Crowd

In some of the most desirable high streets across the UK, you may see as many as three to five aesthetic clinics. How do you make sure you stay ahead of your competitors? Whilst swish interiors and quality coffee are a bonus, patients are seeking experience, professionalism and a clinic which is up to date with the latest and most innovative treatments. By continually developing the treatments you offer, your clinic will develop a cutting edge reputation. Before and after imagery from this procedure is particularly impactful, giving you content for online marketing that will help build your brand and draw attention to your business.

Learn Something New

As a medical practitioner who has already diversified into the field of aesthetics, it is likely that you will have already increased your overall job satisfaction. Taking a non-surgical rhinoplasty course will further develop that feeling of fulfilment. Non-surgical nose jobs require a certain amount of aesthetic creativity which is significantly rewarding for the patient and practitioner alike.

Longevity

Attracting new patients can sometimes feel like hard work; repeat business is, therefore, absolutely vital. As with all other treatments involving dermal filler, your patient will need regular top ups to maintain their appearance. Offering non-surgical rhinoplasty will enable you to grow that repeat business and form stronger connections with your client base.
